Hi Frank. I’m very excited to hear your heart for creating exciting reading material for boys. This is very much at the forefront of my mind as well, and this announcement seems like a positive step. What kind of format were you thinking of for boys? Do you mean separate print, or online content that would come with this subscription?
Great question. The plan is for a separate print under a unified P3 label. The online magazine will remain the same with the exception of the changed schedule. Physical books is the format we've envisioned.
I’m thoroughly impressed by your ambitious vision. All of it sounds perfectly doable. Your team must be very good at communicating and generating shared visions. This is the way.
"In 2021, Deloitte published a study on the widening gender gap between boys and girls. The results are interesting, if not distressing not just because I am a writer of fiction but because I am the father of my one-year-old son and uncle to two young nephews"
Neither of my boys get assigned anything interesting for them at school. It's very frustrating. It makes it even harder to get them away from video games and into books at home. My oldest is pure non-fiction, which is great. My youngest is reading/has read some indie stuff I've found for him and is going through my Conan anthology.
If you put out stuff for boys it would make me so happy!
My nephews are always asking to play some console game when they come to stay with us. They do read books but the video games are their primary interests. I do my best to encourage other activities that I can do with them. At one point I brought out my electric Smith Corona typewriter we type up stories together. In the past we've made comic books and cartoons. Our pivot to boys fiction is a personal mission. Thanks for supporting us!

That would be amazing.
Books are the best physical media for this purpose

Thanks Minna! This is our first step in building something great. I'm interested in playing the long game.

Super excited for what y’all have planned, Frank!
Thanks Andrei! We're thrilled to have your support as a dedicated reader. More exciting things will be announced later this year, too.
Exciting news
Congrats. Good work. As soon as I have paid subscribers and can afford to I will upgrade.
Thanks David.
Father of two boys here. Fully support this.
