I am def. a fan of Taylor Sheridan and know what you mean about "Middle American crime movies." Glad that Paramount seems to see its niche.

Its a great little sub-genre that has popped up. I suppose they've always been a thing, but I feel like the formula is starting to be perfected.

Husband and I were going to watch this the other night on your recommend, but it turned out we would have needed to subscribe to Paramount to get it.

Makes sense, I had an idea that would be a deal breaker for a lot of people. I really think locking it behind the Paramount Paywall and direct to stream was a bad idea.

I started watching it and was enjoying the throwback vibe, but I bailed maybe 1/3 in. I’m all for slow-burns, but it took too long to get to the crime element. It was chock full of Daddy Issue and Dangerous New Girlfriend angles. But based on your review, I’ll revisit it and plow through to the end.

Yeah, its very much a human drama first, and crime movie second, so depending on tastes I can see that turning people off.

Would love to hear your final review. Can see the ending being a love it or hate it. I thought it was pretty cathartic.

Thanks, man. Paramount+ is the only TV I pay for, so it’s an easy task to revisit. Where do you think I binge, and re-binge, all my Gunsmoke and Perry Mason. I’m a massive Sheridan fan, as well, so that’s what brought me on board. Hell or High Water is one of my Top 10 movies.
