A quick welcome letter to all 151 subscribers to our small, but mighty operation.
Thank you, dear reader, for giving us your valuable time. I speak for the Creative Partners when I say your trust in our ability to deliver the finest works of fiction, articles, essays, and poems we can muster is immensely appreciated and not taken lightly. The amount of support our young magazine has received so far is inspiring and gives me, as Editor-in-Chief, the reassurance that now is the time to build something truly special.
The Partners and I are writers; students of the pulp fictioneers that came long before us that survived during a time of economic uncertainty, pandemic, and wartime (hmm) by telling stories of adventure, mystery, suspense, science fiction, fantasy, and horror to a hungry readership. We believe the pendulum of time is swinging back to that period that thrived in the 20s, 30s, and 40s. The Pulp Revival has been cooking for some time now with new writers, magazines, and even publishers making strides in this new world of independent publishing. That, coupled with the current state of entertainment and media, offers our band of pulp brothers the opportunity to build our own imprint and contribute our own stories. The gates are down.
All this to say, I’m excited about what’s in store for the readers of Pulp, Pipe, & Poetry Magazine.
The Schedule
Readers can expect new content delivered to their inboxes from Monday - Thursday. Many of the Partners are fathers holding down day jobs. For this reason, we will be keeping a tight schedule with some built-in time off. From Monday to Thursday, you can expect a short story, a poem, film reviews, essays on music, and a curated list of music, books, and other activities for you to enjoy during the weekend. On the last week of the month, I will publish an editorial piece. This is our plan.
On Monday, July 3rd, we will kick off with an original short story by Zack Grafman, followed by a poem from James Carran, a film review from Frank Kidd, and a curated music playlist from Brady Putzke, along with a few other bonuses. You won’t want to miss out this week!
I’m honored and grateful to help lead something as special as this magazine with some of the finest fiction writers I know. I also have the distinct pleasure of calling them my good friends.
We hope you will join us not just next week but for years to come as we continue to learn, grow, and have fun sharing our work with you.
Welcome to Pulp, Pipe, & Poetry.
Let us, as the kids say these days, fm faithfully go.
The f does stand for faithfully, right?
I am excited
